Facebook Drops RSS Importer for Notes and Discussion for Better User Experience as Per Announcement

Changes in Features in Facebook

Facebook Removes Discussions and RSS Importer for Notes Before November 1, 2011

A few hours from now, Facebook will be changing how our readers and webmasters interact with each other. First of all, RSS Importer for NOTES will no longer be available for automatic posting to FB. Too bad for webmasters like ourselves, our posts will no longer appear on our Facebook page via RSS Feed importer.

Second, the DISCUSSIONS in Facebook will be removed. conversations and feedbacks will become different than our accustomed ways of doing it for the past N years.

For the official Facebook announcement, read below:

Discussions: The best way to encourage conversation and feedback is through posts and comments on your Wall. To focus on this, we’ll be removing the Discussions app on October 31st.

RSS Importer for Notes: People are more likely to interact with your content if you add personal comments and respond to feedback left on your Wall. While you can still write individual notes, you’ll no longer be able to automatically import content from your website to your page. This feature will no longer be available as of October 31st.

Visit Facebook Pages and click Like to get updates on new features as they’re released.

There you have it. Don’t be amazed if you’ll see more FB changes in the next few months. We’re honestly getting dizzy interacting with friends and family members with new feature popping up every now and then in this social network. We might as well explore Google+ when it’s fully operational.
